Phil Ryan (bass)
Phil grew up in Wellington, New Zealand and moved to the Gold Coast, Australia in 2008. He has been recording his own musical compositions since he was 12 years old with his first band the Psycho Homies. He took up guitar at age 14 and developed his style by studying the likes of Nirvana, Sex Pistols, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Bob Dylan and Neil Young. He has played in various covers bands as well as original projects such as Typhoid Mary, The Moons of Jupiter and The Quick Millions.
Phil is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, playing bass, guitar, drums and vocals. Since 2003 he has recorded ten albums of solo material as The Donors. For eight years as a commercial engineer with Mediaworks in New Zealand, he cut his teeth recording various local bands for beer money.
